Garfield Daniels
The fist open event took place on Sunday being the Garfield Daniels, a 27-hole mixed event with 18-holes greensomes in the morning and 9-hole better ball in the afternoon.
In the morning, Kate & Tom Ruhrmund led the way with 39 points, winning the Jack Roberts Salvers as the best West Cornwall pair for the morning event, closely followed by Charlotte & Rod Jenkin who scored 38 points.
In third place were Lady Captain Erika Hewett with Danny Hewett on 37 points, the same score as Donna Gibson & Billy Winn who finished fourth in the morning round.
In the afternoon better ball, Kate & Tom managed 19 points for a total of 58 points. Charlotte & Rod scored 20 points also for a total of 58 but it was Erika & Danny with a fantastic 25 points in the afternoon to total 62 points who took overall victory.
Ladies Open
On Friday 2nd October, the Ladies Open day took place. The format was a 3-person team with 2 scores to count. The winners from Trevose were Leisa Phillips [29], Kate Straker [23] & Jan Gatehouse [12] with an excellent 78 points.
Second place and top WCGC members were Kate Ruhrmund [11], Sharon Rowat [24] & Mel Jasinskyj [21] with 73 points. This was the same score as home players Mandy Dennison [17], Pauline Clifton [8] & Carmel Connors [6] from Falmouth who finished third.
